Gunn Espegard was born and raised in Norway.
After completing her education there, she took a year off to travel in Europe and the USA.  Gunn then moved to London where she decided to persue a career as a make-up artist, graduating from the Shaw College of Beauty and the Lillian Maund School of Make-up, which gave her two years of thorough education in the artistry of applied aesthetics.  She has since completed a course in Airbrush makeup and she has attended all classes and work-shops required to reach the highest level within her Union in the USA.

During her years in London, Gunn worked in advertising and fashion for various magazines including Vogue and Harper’s & Queen.  She also worked on a number of music-videos and commercials with directors such as Tony Kaye and Russel Mulcahy.

In 1989 Gunn moved to Los Angeles after she received her work-permit as an artist with exceptional skills an talents in her field.

After a couple of years of working mainly on music videos (Melissa Ethridge, Prince, Counting Crows, Dwight Yoakam etc.) with directors like Neil Abramson and Gore Verbinski, Gunn gradually moved on to do TV-commercials

Gunn has now worked on hundreds of commercials with a number of award-winning directors, Michael Bay, Brett Ratner, Carolyn Chen to name a few.  She is proud to have worked very closely with the director Gerard de Thame for several years, and she has an especially long and joyous work-history with the director Baker Smith, who she has worked with since 1993.

Gunn combines life experience with work experience in order to transform an actor into any character the director may visualize.  From the classic glamour of the 1940’s movie-stars (Lincoln Mercury) to contemporary, clean beauty (Aveeno), and from the fantasy style of Cirque de Soleil (AT&T) to period Victorian makeup (NetFlix), she will use her skills and imagination to create the image required.
